A fresco-inspired Live Wedding Painter in Italy

I’m Sheean, a Vogue-featured fashion illustrator based in Florence, Italy. Born and raised in the Bahamas, I create vintage-inspired watercolor portraits on-site at weddings and high-profile events across Italy and Europe. My work brings old-world charm to the day, turning guests into elegant keepsakes that feel like souvenirs from a 19th century Grand Tour.

It began at a wedding at Tenuta Corbinaia in Tuscany, where guests were eager to be muses for a day. “I’m going to frame this as soon as I get home,” one said. Since then, I’ve become known for offering couples something rare: a meaningful way to entertain guests while giving them a keepsake they’ll treasure. From sunlit afternoons at Villa Le Fontanelle and Castello di Velona to candlelit receptions at Villa Miani and Villa Corsini, I’ve had the honor of painting in some of Italy’s most storied estates.

Whether they’re hosting 20 guests at a villa in Lake Como or 150 at a castle in the Venetian countryside, my couples want their wedding to feel deeply personal, artistic, and one-of-a-kind. Painting at luxury weddings throughout Italy has taught me to work seamlessly within a celebration, always attuned to atmosphere and guest experience.

I graduated from Pepperdine University in Malibu, California, then moved to Florence to train for three years in classical techniques at Chiaroscuro Atelier. In 2022, I was awarded a summer residency at Accademia Vivarium Novum in Rome. Since then, I’ve continued to build connections between art, storytelling, and culture in my work and collaborations.

My work has been featured in British Vogue,  The Los Angeles Times, The Lane, The Florentine, Travel Noire, and on the national Italian TV show Slow Tour Padano through a partnership with UNESCO and the Italian Ministry of Tourism. Clients have included the National Gallery of London, Google, Amazon, The Hoxton Rome, and The History Channel, as well as luxury travel and media groups across Europe and the US. I was also selected for the Blogs & Crafts competition at Artigianato e Palazzo, a celebration of heritage artisanship in Florence supported by Ferragamo and LVMH.

If you feel drawn to this kind of storytelling, I’d love to hear about your celebration.
